IIAC – International Institute of Coffee Tasters is a non-profit association that is funded by membership fees only. It was founded in 1993 with the aim of researching and disseminating a scientific method of coffee tasting.
Since its foundation, IIAC – International Institute of Coffee Tasters has held hundreds of courses attended by more than 12,000 professionals from more than 40 countries around the world. The book Espresso Italiano Tasting, published in Italian and English, has been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Thai.
IIAC – International Institute of Coffee Tasters boasts an important scientific committee that plans research to guarantee sector innovation: committee members include university professors, technicians and professionals. It also has branches in China, Korea, Japan.
